This weekend marked the end of the
30th birthday party run for the boys.
Peyton planned an amazing evening with a boat ride, handled by my very own Captain Husband, an awesome (and fantastically embarrassing) surprise for her fiance Ryan, great food and drinks, and some of our very favorite friends!
| invite by me! I know, it's nothing fancy but it's cute! |
8 of Ryan's favorite friends (yes, that's self-proclaimed), plus his parents and grandparents, cruised over to Merroir on Grandad's big boat, where Ry thought him and Peyton were having a quiet drink before heading to dinner.
WRONG.
Here we are pulling into the marina, 12 of us standing on the front of the boat, blowing noise makers, air horns and and singing happy birthday at the top of our lungs while the whole restaurant watched. Poor Ryan, who is pretty shy anyways, probably wanted to crawl under a table. We had an absolute blast making a scene and total fools of ourselves.
*Anthony would be hurt if at this time I didn't note that he docked this 40 foot yacht like a champ, in front of an audience of about 100 people. He did however, sternly shush us from our shenanigans as he was about to do so. Game face baby, game face.*
After the surprise, we had a great time enjoying drinks and eating delicious seafood at Merroir

Yea, neither of my pics of the friends turned out great,
closed eyes and whatnot.
Someone please send me a copy of theirs and I'll replace!
Back to the boat for a sunset cruise around the creek
| sorry Petey, I know your eyes are closed but I didn't make it into many, plus the boat looks cool behind us : ) |
Unanimously voted best picture of the weekend:
At the end of the night, the girls and I toasted ourselves and one another on the 4 awesome and unique 30th birthday parties we pulled off for our boys over the past 6 months. They're some lucky guys to have us, good thing they have a few years to decide how to reciprocate... : )
Absolutely incredible night with some of the very best friends and most fun people we know!
love love love what a great night!!
